Base Pay Range
$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Annual Salary Range
$75,000 - $95,000 plus bonus. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
Summary for Manufacturing Engineer
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency across departments. This position will work directly with the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize production processes, enhance quality control, and deliver superior products.
Essential Functions for Manufacturing Engineer
- Works with Engineering Manager to deliver business objectives
- Manage machine builds in conjunction with supply chain and manufacturing.
- Analyze existing materials and methods of manufacture to evaluate feasibility, cost, and operational efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and train on Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Tools like VSM, 6S, Visual Management, Single piece flow, GEMBA, SMED, and others.
- Assist in driving a culture of Safety and Efficiency
- Assist in costing of CI projects and impact on new and current products (ROI).
- Work closely with design engineers to aid in Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to ensure product quality
Position Requirements for Manufacturing Engineer
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent required
- 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
- 2+ years of Continuous Improvement/Lean experience.
- Must have experience in low volume manufacturing, ideally custom equipment.
- Strong lean manufacturing knowledge, with green belt or black belt certification preferred.
- In-depth understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks a plus.
- Must be able to travel 40% annually
Preferred skills and knowledge for Manufacturing Engineer
- Experience in machining metal, castings, and machine tool manufacturing a plus.
- Knowledge of quality lab inspection equipment such as optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, gages etc.
- Understanding of ERP, particularly PLM, BOM’s, Routers
- Quality focused, some experience in a regulated industry preferred.
- Thorough understanding of 6S, Visual Management, VSM, and other Lean Tools
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
- Demonstrates the ability to implement change effectively, fostering adaptability and progress within the team
- Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem‑solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead & train team members and effectively work cross‑functionally and externally as required.
- Knowledgeable in financial impact analysis (ROI) and skilled in executing Continuous Improvement (CI) practices to optimize operational expenses
