Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose
We are seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to improve production processes and ensure operational efficiency through the application of DMAIC methodologies and Lean Manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement projects, resolve manufacturing issues, and help drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency across all levels of operations.
Key Missions
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to identify root causes of inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
- Lead and support Lean initiatives such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Kanban, and Standard Work to reduce waste and optimize workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and logistics to implement process improvements.
- Support early integration of Lean principles.
- Develop and update process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive decision-making.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for safety, quality, or production issues.
- Provide training and support to shop floor personnel on new or improved processes.
- Be an advocate for change, coach, train and mentor site leadership on the fundamentals and principles of Lean Manufacturing.
Profile & Other Information
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with Lean deployment and driving changes in production shop floor through strategic projects.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (DMAIC) principles; certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with process mapping, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO standards.
- High level of initiative in identifying areas of opportunity.
- Strong analytical skills in defect prevention, root cause analysis and problem resolution.
