Department Overview The Legal and Compliance Department consists of the General Counsel, the Chief Compliance Officer, Associate General Counsels, and several paralegals, legal assistants and compliance professionals. The Legal and Compliance Department coordinates, oversees, and handles all legal, regulatory and compliance issues globally. This individual will be based in our New York office and will report to a senior lawyer overseeing the relevant practice areas.

Job Description

This position will be based in our New York office and will provide corporate paralegal assistance to members of the Legal and Compliance Department.

Key Paralegal Responsibilities:

Assist with the drafting, review and negotiation of confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, vendor agreements and various other legal documents. Form corporate entities and assist with related legal, regulatory and reporting matters. Draft resolutions, certificates, operating agreements and other corporate governance documentation. Assist with corporate transaction closings. Work and liaise with external service providers. Monitor the firm’s compliance with contractual obligations. Assist with intellectual property matters, including trademark registrations and renewals. Draft, maintain and update form agreements and other departmental resources. Review investor subscription documentation. Review and assist with securities filings and other regulatory reports. Prepare presentation materials. Assist with departmental projects/initiatives as needed and generally support the day-to-day operations of the department.

Requirements: Must have a strong academic background. Up to 2 years of corporate legal experience. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively legal matters, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels of understanding. This will include high-quality correspondence. Hardworking, motivated and professional. Analytical, very strong attention to detail and good judgment. Team player who is comfortable working independently or in a group setting. Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other widely-used computer programs.

The salary pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $85,000/year; however, salary pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We offer a competitive total compensation package to include and a discretionary incentive bonus which may be offered, depending on multiple individual factors including, role, market location, experience level, individual contributions and overall Firm performance.
