Community Health Education - Suicide Prevention Coordinator Come join the Prevention team and make a difference in our community! Weber Human Services is hiring a new Suicide Prevention Coordinator. This person will coordinate the Suicide Prevention Coalition for the area and work with other local coalitions to ensure we impact Weber and Morgan counties effectively. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, able to pivot, and is a problem solver!

The Prevention Team has fun and looks for positive ways to improve our community's mental health!

General Job Function

Coordinate efforts to improve mental health through evidence-based prevention strategies throughout Morgan and Weber Counties.

Research strategies that promote mental health using evidence-based models and good evaluation.

Coordinate with MCOT, community partners, and community coalitions to create a community culture that promotes positive mental health.

Be knowledgeable of evidence-based strategies that promote mental health. Focus on primary prevention efforts, prevention practices, and strategies that have evidence of evaluation with positive outcomes.

Coordinate with community partners, community coalitions, and MCOT to help craft strategic plans that include evidence‑based mental health promotion strategies.

Strengthen and coordinate the Weber–Morgan Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Sit and participate on the State Suicide Prevention Coalition and at least one workgroup.

Participate on a minimum of one community coalition, including at least one workgroup.

Manage the Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Grant: ensure the approved budget is followed and expended, ensure the grant deliverables are completed, and report on time.

Understand fidelity and adaptability in reference to evidence-based strategies.

Complete required training within six months of hire.

Be prepared for some in‑state travel for training and in‑person meetings in Salt Lake City.

The Preferred Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in social work, health promotion, or a related field.

At least six months of experience with community collaborative work (e.g., coalitions, partnership building).

Familiarity with strategic planning.

Familiarity with evidence-based primary prevention strategies.

Can lift at least 50 lbs., have reliable transportation, and be able to travel as needed.

Salary: $24.81 - $29.77 per hour
