The JC Schools Communications Department is seeking a dynamic and creative photographer and videographer to join its team. This role is ideal for a deadline-driven individual with an interest in capturing and promoting the exceptional students, teachers, and staff of the Jefferson City School District. The intern will be responsible for documenting a range of activities including athletic events, music concerts, after-school programs, and various weekend events. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a diverse portfolio while working in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Capture high-quality photographs and videos at various school-related events, including sports games, after-school activities, and weekend gatherings.
Edit and process images and footage to meet deadlines and organizational standards.
Collaborate with the communications department to maintain a schedule of athletic and activities events; understand specific event requirements and desired outcomes; and promote the district through social media platforms.
Maintain and manage photography and videography equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of operating still and/or video cameras and developing, processing, and editing the resulting media.
Proficiency in using DSLR cameras for photography; use of smartphones acceptable for videography purposes; use of point-and-shoot cameras is not desired.
Familiarity with photo and video editing software.
Must have access to photography/video equipment.
Must have access to a computer for editing and communications.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions.
Possess full access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
