Press Mounter
Shift: 12pm-8:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday; flexibility required
Primary responsibility is to assist the mounters in organizing and mounting printing plates on prepared sleeves. These sleeves are used in the operation of a printing press that prints designs up to ten colors on rolls of polyethylene film. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. The work environment and physical demands listed are representative of those encountered by individuals while performing the essential functions of this job. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Evaluates press schedules and prioritizes jobs needing to be mounted.
Reviews specs such as Work Order, Color Controls, Art Proofs, and Print Samples.
Helps gather and inspect components for mounting including required sleeves, plates and proofs.
Sets up mounter proofer for micro-dot mounting following established procedures.
Helps to mount plates ensuring proper registration.
Helps fill out and audit paperwork. Examples: Daily Production Sheets.
Demounts plates after press production run.
Cleans plates free from all ink and foreign material.
Stores plates in proper boxes and returns them to plate storage system.
Manufacturing plates as required.
Performs daily housekeeping duties in prepress and plate mounting areas meeting AIB standards.
Performs basic maintenance on plate cleaner.
May be required to work overtime to cover vacations, call ins or workload.
Performs all other duties assigned.
Must have general printing experience; and a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
