Bankruptcy Legal Assistant – Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
A well-established law firm in Tampa is seeking a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join its Creditor’s Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group. The role is ideal for a motivated individual familiar with litigation in state and federal courts who is interested in supporting bankruptcy matters from intake through resolution.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, proofread, and format bankruptcy-related documents and correspondence, including proofs of claim, stay relief motions, and objections.
E-file pleadings and other documents via CM/ECF and state e-filing systems.
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures.
Monitor and track case deadlines, hearings, and critical dates to ensure timely completion of filings and responses.
Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, trustees, and opposing counsel.
Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and preparation of exhibits, binders, and hearing materials.
Provide general administrative and clerical assistance to attorneys and paralegals.
Perform docket monitoring and basic legal research as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in Creditor’s rights, Bankruptcy, or Litigation.
High school diploma required; associate degree or legal studies certificate preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CM/ECF and state and federal e-filing systems.
Experience in court filings in a high-volume litigation practice.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Details: Full-time role based in Tampa. Competitive compensation in the
$62,000-–$70,000
range, based on experience.
