Employment Paralegal

Job Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Employment Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys with employment law matters, including litigation, compliance, workplace investigations, and internal HR‑related legal issues. This role requires a strong understanding of labor and employment law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in handling employment‑related litigation, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, and other workplace matters.
Conduct legal and factual research related to labor and employment issues.
Draft and manage legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, position statements, and settlement agreements.
Support workplace investigations and prepare summaries or reports.
Coordinate with HR to track employee complaints, accommodations, and policy updates.
Maintain case files, document databases, and litigation calendars.
Assist with state and federal filings (e.g., EEOC, DFEH, NLRB).
Monitor changes in labor laws and assist in compliance initiatives.
Communicate with outside counsel, courts, and administrative agencies as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved program.
3+ years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on employment law.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and procedures.
Experience with litigation support, including e‑discovery and document management tools.
Excellent legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
Experience working with in‑house legal teams or employment law firms preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with HRIS systems or internal HR policies.
