Base Pay Range $20.00/hr - $28.00/hr
Duties
Perform data entry, including verifying correct account codes and locations in Data Viewer.
Answer phones and take messages professionally.
Generate labels as needed, complete documentation for issued parts, and ensure all paperwork is stamped and properly filed.
Conduct daily spot checks on maintenance and equipment inventory.
Pull reports and count stock items to verify against inventory records.
Take periodic physical inventory and maintain perpetual inventory records.
Verify that delivered quantities match the items ordered.
Confirm purchase orders belong to the Albany Division.
Ensure delivered items correspond to the correct manufacturer part number.
Handle material sorting and distribution.
Restock shelves and maintain a clean, organized stockroom.
Mop floors, vacuum office areas, and remove trash and cardboard as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility.
Deliver items using a forklift or van.
Operate motor vehicles and forklifts safely.
When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbent must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
Qualifications
Transfer qualifications for current state employees: Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service allocated to a Grade 06 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
General public and/or NY HELPS minimum qualifications: There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title. This title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment; all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title. At a future date, employees hired under NY HELPS may have their non‑competitive employment status converted to competitive status.
Additional Comments This is a Teamsters position. The NYS Thruway Authority offers an extensive benefits package, including but not limited to paid time off, sick leave incentive, membership to the NYS Retirement System, and 90% tuition assistance. We offer free onsite employee parking.
Additional Pay Information The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay. Base Pay Range from Hiring Rate $17.16 up to Job Rate $24.80. Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37.
