Part-Time Adult Education Instructor Under general supervision, responsible for classroom instruction and evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives in reading, language arts, and/or mathematics. Instructional services in the mornings and evenings on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Saturday. This is a grant-funded position; it is limited in time to the duration of the grant and contingent upon sufficient funding. Essential Functions: Creates and develops curriculum, lesson plans, teaching materials, and Individual Learning Plans to aid students in developing skills. Provides learner guidance to students; evaluates students’ ongoing progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives. Promotes the adult education program to public and private organizations through the Service Delivery Area of the district. Participates in the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Adult Education EAGLE competition. Plans, organizes, and participates in staff development and team conferences. Maintains a secure classroom environment. Completes and submits attendance for each class session to the Data Clerk and/or Manager. Recruits and supervises classroom volunteers. Evaluates and communicates with adult learners regarding their academic progress. Maintains a portfolio/work folder for each student that includes work samples and test data. Analyzes students’ test data to plan different lessons and activities as well as plan leveled groups. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university in a relevant educational or career field required. Minimum one (1) year of teaching experience required. Experience working with adults preferred. Postings current as of 3/2/2025 7:18:22 PM CST.
