Overview
A thoughtful, professional family in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a full-time nanny for their energetic and curious 12-month-old son. The ideal candidate is developmentally minded, engaging, and organized- someone who brings warmth, positivity, and structure to the household while fostering the child’s growth and independence. The family values a proactive nanny who takes initiative, communicates openly, and is confident managing the day-to-day needs of a busy toddler. The family has one friendly mini goldendoodle, but no pet care is required.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday: 8am-6pm, with occasional overtime
Start Date: Flexible- ASAP or January 2026
Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally supportive care for a 12-month-old boy
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities and playdates
Encourage independence through a Montessori-inspired approach
Manage routines including meals, naps, and diapering
Prepare simple, fresh child meals (rice, pasta, veggies, etc.)
Maintain a clean and organized environment, particularly in child-related areas
Be proactive in planning the day, managing time efficiently, and communicating updates
Light household tasks related to the child (laundry, tidying toys, etc.)
Ability to travel internationally
Qualifications
5+ years of professional nanny experience with infants and toddlers
Experience navigating Manhattan and public transportation confidently
Fully vaccinated (including COVID) and committed to excellent hygiene standards
Emotionally intelligent and highly communicative — knows when to take initiative and when to step back
Positive, warm, and detail-oriented with a structured yet flexible approach
Montessori or child-led learning experience a plus
English fluency required; French language skills highly preferred
Legal to work in the U.S.
Passport preferred but not required
Salary and Benefits
$35–$40/hr DOE
Health insurance stipend (negotiable)
2 weeks paid vacation (ideally 1 week coordinated with family’s travel)
3–5 sick days
Paid holidays
Overtime for hours worked beyond 40 per week
