Bachelor’s degree in a Social Work and/or behavior related field
or Associate degree in a Social Work and/or behavior related field on the path to earning a bachelor’s degree in the field in an agreed-upon timeline
or Professional training in Social Work and/or behavior with the ability and intent to earn a bachelor’s degree in the field in an agreed-upon timeline Previous experience in the area of school social work or experience in graduate field placement in a school setting, preferred Michigan approval as a school social worker or eligible for approval and registered with the Board of Social Work, Michigan Department of Community Health, preferred Ability to implement research-based intervention and services to students with trauma, low will, maladaptive behavior, anxiety, and emotional behavior/social challenges in order to support progress and participation in the educational setting Job Description
Provide individual and small group counseling/support that focuses on students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs, which impact learning and school succes. Support students and their families to help them be successful in school through gaining access to formal and informal community resource. Ability to plan school and/or system-wide programs to promote social emotional learning as a means of creating a safe, healthy, and caring school climate that fosters academic success Support district administrators with the development and implementation of MTSS Salary/Benefits
Starting $41,916, commensurate with experience and education Days/Hours:
