Working Title: Associate Professor of Practice and Concrete Industry Management Program Coordinator Posting Number: F01725P Department: SDSU-Construction & Concrete Industry Management Physical Location of Position (City): Brookings, South Dakota The Department of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) in the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead the Bachelor’s degree in Concrete Industry Management (CIM). The position is offered at the rank of Associate Professor of Practice, reporting to the Department Head of CCIM, with an expected start date of Spring 2026. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen partnerships with regional and national industry leaders, enhance program visibility, and guide students as they prepare for leadership and management roles in the concrete industry. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position. The Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering has benefited from substantial investment by its stakeholders in the past 15 years, resulting in new buildings, state-of-the-art teaching and research labs, and renovated classrooms. The five academic units are Civil & Environmental Engineering, Construction & Concrete Industry Management, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics, and Mechanical Engineering. Engineering Extension, SD LTAP, the EDA University Center, and the Image Processing Lab provide outreach and services to the state and region. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Key Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator is expected to maintain performance levels that align with SDSU faculty standards in teaching, advising, service, and industry engagement. Specific responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate courses in areas such as concrete materials and testing, estimating, plant management, and/or concrete methods and systems. Advising students and supporting their academic and professional development. Serving as a liaison to regional concrete industry partners, the CIM National Steering Committee, and other professional organizations. Leading outreach, recruitment, and promotional activities to enhance program awareness and enrollment. Benefits

Earned graduate degree in Concrete Industry Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline by start date. A minimum of 10 years of full-time experience in the domestic concrete industry, including at least 5 years in technical services or sales in the U.S. Proven excellence in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and willingness to travel as required. Preferred Qualifications

Professional licensure and/or concrete-related certification. Experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students at the collegiate level. More than 10 years of leadership experience in the domestic concrete industry and related professional associations. Application Process
