The Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing the inventory management processes within our cold storage facilities. This role ensures accurate tracking, storage, and distribution of goods, and plays a crucial part in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily inventory activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing products. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all inventory transactions. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances. Lead and supervise a team of inventory associates. Train and mentor staff on inventory management procedures and best practices. Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure operational goals are met. Maintain product integrity by ensuring proper storage conditions are consistently met. Implement and uphold quality control measures to minimize product damage and loss. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track and manage inventory. Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure data accuracy within the inventory management system. Communicate with customers regarding inventory status and resolve any issues. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Collaborate with other departments to meet customer needs and expectations. Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency. Monitor and optimize storage space utilization. Identify and recommend improvements to warehouse processes and workflows. Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a cold storage environment. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Skills: Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a cold storage environment with temperatures ranging from -10°F to 40°F. Ability to lift and move heavy items as required. Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods. Working Conditions: This position involves working in a refrigerated environment with exposure to cold temperatures.
