Safra National Bank – Compliance Associate, BSA / OFAC Analyst

Job Overview The Compliance Associate (BSA / OFAC Analyst) assists the BSA/AML/OFAC Team in executing the Bank’s OFAC/BSA Program. Responsibilities include researching alerts, conducting investigations, reviewing account relationships, performing due diligence, and supporting the Compliance department’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
Review real‑time or in‑process transactions for potential OFAC matches to ensure compliance with sanctions.
Perform due diligence using proprietary, subscription and public databases; research entities related to transactions.
Analyze transaction patterns for private bank client activity to identify anomalous activity for AML purposes.
Assist in completing general compliance functions as required.
Review system‑generated alerts, assess impact to AML processes, conduct research, and document results in written format.
Determine if noted activity is suspicious or not suspicious, collecting support documentation for cash, checks, ACH, wire transfers, monetary instruments and other transactions to justify the determination.
Write suspicious activity reports, address sanctions alerts, and other applicable AML processes in accordance with regulatory expectations and departmental procedures.
Complete all processes related to the filing of SARs.
Resolve any issues necessary to complete reviews and liaise with other departments.
Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the job assignment.
Requirements
Knowledge of AML/BSA/OFAC rules, regulations.
Finance/Banking background.
Excellent judgment and assessment skills; proactively employ personal curiosity to identify and research transactions and transaction‑related parties using a risk‑based approach.
Meet or exceed quality, productivity and timeliness goals.
Excellent communication skills in written and verbal formats.
Excellent organization and prioritization skills; follow through to complete deliverables timely.
Excellent work ethic (respectful, honest, considerate, self‑motivated, reliable independent work, works well under pressure, adapts quickly to changing priorities, accountable).
Proficient in MS Excel (sort, pivot tables); knowledge of MS Access is a plus.
Demonstrates initiative, creativity and teamwork within the framework of the position responsibilities.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Spanish and/or Portuguese speaking is a plus.
