North Shore Steel, founded in 1955 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, is a leading full-service steel center specializing in structural steel products and value-added processing. With a second facility in Beaumont and over 230 dedicated team members, we serve industries including oil & gas, aerospace, military, mining, and pressure vessel fabrication. Our capabilities span plate rolling, forming, cutting, CNC machining, and ASME welding, supported by advanced technology and a strong customer-first approach. What You'll Do (The Blueprint)

You're not just any Business Development pro, you're a top performer who operates with integrity, insight, and initiative. You bring more than experience, you bring presence.

Represent North Shore Steel and the full SSC Group in Houston and extended regional markets.

Build meaningful customer relationships through face-to-face meetings, plant visits, and job site interactions.

Identify and close new business with fabricators, OEMs, contractors, and industrial accounts.

Provide technical consultation and support in steel plate and structural applications.

Travel frequently (with overnight stays) across assigned territory to maintain a strong market presence. Attend and represent SSC at industry tradeshows, conferences, and customer events. Partner with inside sales and operations to ensure smooth quote-to-order execution. Capture key market trends and customer feedback to help shape sales strategy.

Who You Are (The Alloy of Excellence)

Comfortable with frequent travel and overnight stays. 3-10 years of business development experience in the metals service center or industrial B2B sales. Knowledgeable in structural steel and plate processing (CNC, cut-to-length, forming, etc.). Adept in CRM tools like Salesforce and fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Proven record of territory growth, customer relationship building, and quota achievement. Mastery in using CRM systems like Salesforce, plus Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or enough field savvy to rival one.
