Technical Product Lead – Southeast Seed

Position Overview At Southeast Seed, our mission is to deliver seed that is tailored for the Southeast – built on faith, family, and farming. The Technical Product Lead will play a critical role in ensuring our products are positioned correctly in the market, backed by strong agronomic expertise, and supported by clear training for our sales force. This role will act as the technical voice of Southeast Seed, bridging research, agronomy, and sales to ensure our products deliver consistent performance and value for growers.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical expert for the Southeast Seed portfolio across corn, soybeans, wheat, and other crops.
Lead hybrid and variety evaluations through plot trials and in-season agronomic observations.
Translate agronomic data into product positioning guides and placement recommendations.
Monitor competitive products and help differentiate Southeast Seed offerings.
Develop and deliver technical training programs for sales representatives, dealers, and interns.
Create product information sheets, agronomic updates, and digital resources.
Join sales reps on key customer calls to provide technical credibility and support.
Research & Development Support
Partner with testing locations, cooperators, and universities to strengthen local performance data.
Guide advancement/retirement of hybrids and varieties based on performance.
Provide insight to shape future product lineup and launches.
Represent Southeast Seed at field days, farm visits, grower meetings, and events.
Provide growers with in-depth technical support.
Gather farmer feedback to guide product strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in seed agronomy, product management, or technical sales.
Deep knowledge of corn, soybean, and wheat agronomy under Southeast conditions.
Proven ability to interpret research data and communicate it effectively.
Excellent communication and present willingness to travel extensively across the company’s footprint.
Strong agronomic expertise and understanding of Southeast growing conditions.
Ability to connect technical detail to farmer ROI.
Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Clear communicator who inspires confidence in sales teams and farmers.
Data‑driven mindset with ability to simplify research results.
