Position Overview As the Business Development Manager, you will identify and nurture strategic relationships with industry partners or potential customers to expand SEKISUI Aerospace’s customer base for thermoset and thermoplastic composites, capturing new market share and growing existing platform business. You will develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities, research and analyze current and future opportunities, and support the execution of the business development strategy to drive sales, increase revenue, and expand markets.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain best‑in‑class customer relationships with buyers, engineers, and key decision‑makers in aviation, aerospace, UAM, UAV, mobility, and recreational markets.
Leverage and expand those relationships to identify additional capture opportunities and increase demand for SEKISUI products, services, and capabilities.
Acquire and develop new customer and industry relationships, diversifying SEKISUI into new markets.
Assist in developing technology roadmaps and identifying potential customers for key technology growth drivers.
Drive sales process improvements and compliance through deployment of Customer Relationship Management (CRM – Salesforce) and related tools.
Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership.
Deliver detailed and accurate sales forecasting, including executive summaries of pipeline and campaign activities.
Support internal and external communication, including customer presentations, conference presentations, marketing announcements, and press releases.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in successfully securing new business.
Networking and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw solid conclusions.
Expert problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to influence across functional lines within the company and customer organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business (preferred).
Experience in aerospace or composites manufacturing (preferred).
Strong network and knowledge of key composite customers, markets, and competitors.
Broad technical understanding of thermoset and thermoplastic composite design, materials, manufacturing, advanced processes, estimating models, and application.
Aerospace, Defense, and/or related industry experience.
Track record of successful, win‑win complex negotiations.
Ability to develop estimating models and prepare proposals and presentations.
Persuasive with strong negotiation and influence skills.
Working Conditions Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection in certain areas. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided by SEKISUI Aerospace.
