Description Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports,” was formed in 1992 to deliver high-quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and are the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice skating arenas across Massachusetts in partnership with the Commonwealth, municipalities, and educational institutions. The
Facility Operator
is responsible for maintaining FMC facilities to ensure they are clean, safe, and healthy. This includes routine maintenance, janitorial functions, and operating an ice resurfacer. The Facility Operator reports to the Arena Manager or Facility Supervisor and may work alone or with others based on the schedule. Work hours include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. No prior experience in an ice rink is required; training will be provided. Responsibilities include: Maintaining and securing the facility Preparing and maintaining the ice surface and arena facilities Ensuring regular cleaning of the facilities Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers Requirements: HS Diploma or GED At least 21 years old with a valid Driver's License Self-starter with problem-solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Compensation:
Starting at $18/hour during training, increasing to $20/hour after training. Compensation includes discretionary bonuses and annual reviews, details to be discussed at offer.
