Job Summary

The Above Ground Pool Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for product categories, managing vendor relationships, and driving innovation to achieve growth and profitability. This role oversees the product development lifecycle, including market analysis, pricing strategies, promotional plans, training programs, and new product launches. The position requires cross‑functional collaboration across departments and serves as the primary resource for product expertise and industry insights.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead the strategic plan for the category and manage the vendor and product portfolio.

Analyze market intelligence and share analysis to understand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Create and manage sample and display programs.

Act as the go‑to resource for product and programs, providing field and product guidance and resolving customer, employee, and vendor conflict.

Serve as the visionary for the category, managing new product introductions, obsolescent inventory management, and collaborating with marketing and other internal departments.

Identify process and product gaps, develop solutions, and create sales tools, MCPL and data management, forecasting, and KPI tracking.

Create training content, ensuring success of factory training events, dealer conferences, and trade shows.

Analyze consumer needs and market trends to identify new product opportunities and prioritize them.

Develop product strategy documents describing business cases, market requirements, pricing, positioning, and marketing strategy.

Assess competitor offerings and activities to identify differentiation opportunities.

Build buy‑in for the product vision through communication and leadership, acting as a product evangelist.

Drive product launches by partnering with Vendors, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, Pricing, and other teams to meet category growth objectives.

Build strong vendor relationships to develop and execute promotional plans and product launches.

Provide market intelligence and training to the field to grow revenue, profitability, and market share.

Provide direction to Sourcing on price targets, levels, discounts, costs, and other profit components.

Contribute to annual management strategy discussions focused on improving sales execution.

Provide leadership and guidance to achieve sales objectives across levels.

Requirements

Experience in the pool industry is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.

5 years of experience in product development and management.

Expertise with successful product launches preferred.

Significant experience in a dynamic product management role in consumer or industrial products.

Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.

Highly effective cross‑functional team management.

Previous experience delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.

Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong presentation and public speaking skills.

Proficiency in standard office software: MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
