Shipping Supervisor - 3rd Shift (Holland, MI) - $85,000 - $95,000
The Stow Company is a leading provider of custom closets and organizational solutions. We design custom‑cut products and ship them from our world‑class manufacturing facility in Holland, MI.
Primary Purpose of Position: This position will lead the team responsible for order picking and preparation to meet daily customer demands. As a supervisor, instill accountability across all team members to ensure department targets of efficiency, accuracy, and quality are met on a daily basis. Effectively communicate with Shipping, Warehouse, and Production leaders to address and respond to daily challenges. Lead daily and long‑term continuous improvement initiatives. Own calculation and reporting of department KPIs. Coordinate with process engineers to maintain accurate documentation of work standards and training. Effectively manage team members in labor planning, employee engagement and development, retention, discipline, and conflict resolution. Enforce 5S and other safety standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Use experience and expertise to oversee all Shipping and Inventory Management processes
Ensure all team members are trained to perform job tasks safely and correctly
Enforce a safe work environment in coordination with Stow’s 5S standards
Communicate company news and issues to hourly team members
Motivate team members to meet all process targets and quality expectations
Enforce disciplinary actions to hold team members accountable to company policy and procedures
Manage department scheduling and labor efficiency
Manage department performance reviews and encourage individual growth and development
Drive efficiency, work standards, processes and procedures
Coordinate with process engineers to maintain accurate documentation of work standards and training
Lead daily and long‑term continuous improvement initiatives

The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities. Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel. Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
Basic Qualifications: Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ideally in Engineering, Logistics, or Business
3+ years of experience in a leadership role in Shipping/Warehouse within a Manufacturing Facility
Previous experience in Lean manufacturing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated leadership and team building abilities
Demonstrated ability to motivate people
Ability to effectively teach and train others; assess and develop team member skills
Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to think innovatively
Proficiency with computer systems; including MS Office Suite, ERP systems, web-based programs, etc.
Ability to work collaboratively with groups and lead decision‑making processes in a team environment
Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to The Stow Company
Must have excellent customer service skills; including strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel in an office and a manufacturing environment
Ability to take the initiative and work well independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Physical Qualifications:
Ability to assist with lifting or moving product while working with the teams
Ability to spend large amounts of time on the plant floor
Must be able to travel between plant and office locations
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces
Manufacturing environment with multiple machinery and moving parts
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday: 10:15pm - 6:15am
