Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor who will be a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and for general operations when functioning as Manager on Duty. The role includes opening/closing the store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly, easy to shop environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and maintaining a clean work area. The Area Supervisor will also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.

Responsibilities
General and Front End Operations: open/close the store, supervise Associates, ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment, maintain merchandise presentation, and keep work areas clean.
Safe & Secure Environments: uphold safety as the priority, monitor the sales floor, report unsafe conditions, manage building security, and ensure clear egress and emergency procedures compliance.
Customer Service: treat Customers and Associates with respect; demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
Merchandising & Stock: manage back stock, floor replenishment, stockroom organization, and adherence to monthly presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention: participate in LP awareness, safeguard confidential information, manage PVM systems, and follow Best Practices to maximize productivity.
Administrative Duties: payroll administration, scheduling compliance, refunds and cash handling procedures, and other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Other Supervisory Responsibilities: oversee Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
Excellent verbal communication skills; English fluency.
Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications; basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements Ability to use all store equipment, stand/walk for up to 100% of the shift, bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (and more for stockroom roles) and operate janitorial equipment, rolling racks, and ladders as required.
