Job Summary SMSI is hiring a Senior Scheduler to provide in‑office support from Oak Ridge, TN to a DOE capital project located on the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. The candidate will work a hybrid schedule based in Oak Ridge office with some short‑term travel to SRS and/or vendor facilities each month or as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Project Controls System.
Provide/supervise schedule development, maintenance and monitoring activities.
Support project organizational and administrative activities.
Responsible for scheduling activities for projects with significant non‑routine requirements or for discipline/projects/proposal cost and planning activities which require a high degree of technical skilled experience.
Demonstrate skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions and schedule guidance to projects.
Ensure work is completed as scheduled.
Use expertise to develop objectives and principles and to achieve goals creatively and effectively.
Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories.
Provide solutions that are highly creative and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
Operate under consultative direction toward predetermined long‑range targets; assignments are often self‑initiated.
Use independent judgment for determining course of action to accomplish objectives.
Review planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
Supervise personnel and provide training of technical and non‑technical personnel.
Skilled in oral and written communication and proficiency in personal computer operating systems and Primavera P6.
Demonstrate a senior level understanding of project controls general technical skills.
Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Candidates must be able to work onsite in Oak Ridge, TN.
Candidate must be able to travel to South Carolina as required.
Minimum of 15‑20 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in P6 Primavera, Deltek Cobra, and/or risk management software applications is required.
Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM).
Experience working within DOE, federal, or commercial nuclear environments is highly preferred.
Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience or Associate's degree and 17 years of experience.
19 years of experience in lieu of degree.
