The Aftermarket Buyer 2 role is responsible for acquiring goods and services at a competitive price, ensuring top quality, and facilitating delivery through purchase order management. The role involves demand analysis, supply planning, supplier performance management, and ensuring quality and compliance. A diverse purchasing background and understanding of supplier documentation and certification are essential. Strong negotiation, contract administration skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff are desired.
This position supports critical post-delivery operations by sourcing aerospace components for spare parts, upgrades, and maintenance. Familiarity with aircraft parts and aftermarket programs is crucial for swift response to urgent requirements, maintaining aircraft readiness, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance through agile supply chain coordination.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field, or equivalent experience Experience:
Minimum of 3+ years in purchasing, preferably in aerospace or aviation. Computer Skills: MRP system experience MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint) Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills Understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings Self-starter with improvement drive Problem-solving and team collaboration skills Ability to work effectively under pressure Excellent organizational skills Proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint Coordination with operations and logistics teams Monitoring purchasing KPIs Order planning and adjustment skills Supply Chain experience adaptability Negotiation and influence skills Decisiveness and proactive action Effective stakeholder communication Customer service orientation Additional preferred skills include certifications such as CPP, CSCP, aerospace manufacturing experience, and ability to interpret engineering prints.
