Approx. Salary: $65,000 (TBD)

Job Description Summary The Purchasing Agent will manage purchasing activities, whether in development or in serial life. They will work in close collaboration with the SCL, SPM and all internal customers (Plant, Sales, Quality, and Program). Responsible for the CBS of purchased products but also of non‑aircraft products related to the program (including tools on specification).

Responsibilities

Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.

Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost‑efficiency.

Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs.

Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.

Preparing and processing purchase orders.

Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.

Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.

Building and maintaining positive, long‑term supplier relations.

Monitoring Safety Stock forecasts (series, new product launches, industrial transfers) to ensure deliveries and product availability to meet customer needs without generating obsolete stock.

Ensuring the good supply of raw materials respecting delivery cycles within the framework of trusted contracts.

Stock Optimization

Control supply parameters (batch size, kanban sizing, security level, etc.) and replenishment methods (deterministic, kanban, order points, VMI, consignment) to optimize availability and stock levels.

Analyze the stocks of perishable materials and ensure proper management to limit destruction and stock shortages.

Analyze monthly portfolio valuations of bought, dormant, and obsolete stocks to identify optimization opportunities, lead the associated action plan, and report to the supervisor.

Be responsible for inventory value within perimeter.

Delivery Calls Monitoring

Monitor receipt of supplier acknowledgements, analyze them, negotiate, and, if necessary, enter agreements into SAP/ERP and send amendments to suppliers.

Follow up with suppliers to ensure product delivery dates are respected.

Ensure delivery deadlines are correct; if needed, cancel or adjust resource elements considering contractual conditions.

Take charge of daily collaboration (quantity, deadline) with suppliers to ensure operational efficiency.

In emergency requests, negotiate supplier lead times outside production cycle after preparing negotiation levers; contact Sourcing Manager if needed.

Coordinate treatment of reception/invoicing disputes (Qty/Delay/Return Quality).

Requirements

Proficiency in SAP/MRP/CRM and inventory management software.

High school diploma or GED required.

Degree in business administration, procurement, or related field preferred.

Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in aircraft industry.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong organization and documentation skills.

Strong research and analytical skills.

Minimum 2 years of experience.

Physical Requirements The employee must use hands to finger, handle or feel; must communicate verbally and hear; regularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop or crouch; occasionally sit; lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally; full range of motion required; maintain steady hand‑eye coordination; reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.
