Master Production Scheduler Overview
The Master Production Scheduler will maintain effective control of the backlog from order entry through shipment. The Master Production Scheduler ensures each order is planned and acted upon in a timely manner while providing visibility for a smooth flow of material. This includes identifying and reconciling problems or potential problems through interface with various departments. Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Liaison with Contracts on loading and lead-time of all new Sales Orders Monitor the sales backlog for his/her planner code Ensure Delivery notes are raised in a timely manner with contracts to ensure time is allowed to Kit/Inspection and shipping within expected TAT Ensure timely delivery of all parts via Receiving and shipping departments Prioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and department workload Coordinate the purchase and planning of materials required to meet the Production schedule Expedite and schedule orders to meet company and financial requirements Process changes, reschedules and outside processing as required to accomplish the production schedule goals Place purchase orders Possess knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processes Determine time requirements for specific jobs and translate the production plan into a specific time schedule Review MRP order action messages, maintain schedule and visibility, and identify and resolve issues until shipment Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP messages; negotiate prices and deliveries that are consistent with schedule needs Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving on-time deliveries of quality products; follow through on special requests and expedites; identify potential late deliveries and plan recovery Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree is required Experience: 8+ years of experience in contracts within the aerospace industry with progressive levels of responsibility Related contracting courses in government, commercial and international contracting, trade compliance, leadership, management, and program management desired Travel requirement: 10% annually Skills: Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a planner Minimum 5 years of experience in the production control field, including material/inventory management in a defense or aerospace environment Experience with production control and MRP/ERP systems; SAP knowledge desirable Knowledge of JDE MRP system extremely helpful Strong interpersonal communications and the ability to motivate others Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing needs Ability to interpret instructions written and oral; familiarity with diagrams, graphs, and schedules Other:
