Project Analyst II

We are seeking a Project Analyst II to provide financial guidance throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on budgets, profitability, earnings variances, cash flow, and contract compliance. The role acts as the primary financial advisor, supporting contracting, compensation, and project management systems to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
Engage and support all financial aspects across the entire project lifecycle.
Model and analyze gross margin scenarios from initial engagement through final negotiations, offering revenue and cash performance recommendations.
Ensure the accuracy of the PM system by overseeing changes to budget, commitments, forecasts, and expenditures, aligning work plans with client/contract requirements.
Review and ensure timely and accurate invoice approval and payment applications according to client terms, including subcontracting needs; collaborate with the project manager and cash management team to resolve billing and revenue discrepancies.
Generate and evaluate standard and ad hoc reports to identify and track potential cost issues and overruns; investigate budget anomalies and resolve variances or raise concerns.
Forecast and monitor project estimate‑at‑completion (EAC) by recording potential and actual changes to cost accounts, including change orders, trends, and deviations.
Facilitate an efficient earnings review process with the project team using GAAP and revenue recognition concepts; perform project revenue adjustments with general supervision.
Escalate project performance that impacts office results to the office finance manager in a timely manner.
Develop client and subconsultant relationships, ensuring effective client service and efficient subconsultant management.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Project Finance Associates as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering, or related field.
2 years of financial or project accounting/analysis experience, or 6 years of related work experience in lieu of education.
Ownership of project finance responsibilities for small to medium projects or portion of larger projects.
Ability to read and comprehend contract requirements to ensure adherence.
Understanding of internal project finance and accounting processes.
Intermediate data analysis skills with Excel and reporting systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in relevant finance or accounting fields.
Knowledge of project financial management and cost controls.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge of the A/E industry.
