Facilities Maintenance Technician – GSK
GSK is seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team in Rockville, MD. In this role you will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, service calls, and in‑house repairs throughout the facility while ensuring compliance with cGMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building utility systems and bio‑pharmaceutical production equipment.
Work effectively with outside contractors and independently resolve complex problems.
Assist in the development and improvement of department procedures, documents, and operating and maintenance practices.
Serve as the on‑call technician 24 hours a day for emergency situations as required.
Utilize the computerized maintenance system database for equipment tracking and reporting.
Reinforce EHS rules and policies within the work area and elevate any identified EHS risks.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of experience working in facilities maintenance, utilities, or equipment support within a GMP‑regulated biopharmaceutical or industrial manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with FDA and cGMP requirements and the ability to implement and maintain procedures.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Experience with boiler, HVAC, CMMS, or utility equipment maintenance.
Basic understanding of cleanroom protocols, contamination control, and aseptic behavior.
