Role Description Rivian is looking for skilled and motivated Industrial HVAC Technicians to join our multi‑skilled facilities maintenance team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex HVAC systems that support critical manufacturing and building environments. You’ll ensure environmental comfort, system reliability, and energy efficiency across the site — while partnering closely with Controls, Electrical, and Facilities Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
EPA Universal Certification (required).
Proven experience in industrial, commercial, or large‑scale HVAC maintenance.
Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues independently.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical schematics, and BAS interfaces.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Perform break‑fix and preventative maintenance, including root‑cause analysis, disassembly, inspection, repair, testing, and reconditioning of machine tools.
Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items as necessary.
Independently perform maintenance as per industry standards.
May be required to set up and operate multiple machining operations such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
May perform welding tasks.
Comply with 5S and housekeeping standards.
Drive and participate in CI activities – processes, results, and cost savings.
Update records and reviews in CMMS history.
Troubleshoot and analyze control systems to resolve software/hardware and configuration problems.
Utilize predictive‑maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
Provide assistance to other technicians as needed and provide leadership to small teams; perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.
Complete on‑the‑job and technical self‑study programs for career development.
Follow all safety‑related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
