For additional information, visit www.sundyne.com. This position is responsible for incoming inspection, verification and release of purchased parts/materials. A variety of techniques are used including dimensional, visual and paperwork verification requiring the usage of measuring tools, drawings, written instructions and verbal instructions. Any parts/material found to be non-conforming to customer requirements and/or drawings must be identified and documented. This is a hands-on position that requires close and effective working relationship with organizations such as Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly & Test, Product Engineering, Supply Chain and at times with external customer inspectors. This position works under limited supervision, reporting directly to the Quality Manager. Job Duties & Responsibilities
Perform incoming inspection of purchased parts/materials. Must have a good knowledge of the RMA process including hands on experience processing RMAs. Must be able to create inspection reports utilizing GD&T methods and determining the proper equipment necessary to inspect features accurately. Identify and document non-conformance reports. Must be able to interpret and apply GD&T at a Master Level. This includes determining the acceptance/rejection criteria when defining the methods and techniques for inspection. Follow written and verbal instructions. Measure, monitor, improve, and control KPIs. Follow all policies and procedures including safety guidelines. Must be able to teach, coach, and mentor teammates effectively. Identify and suggest areas of improvement to strive towards a continuous improvement organization; as required, participate in events and other improvement activities. Certified Calibration Technician with experience using GageTrak software. Skills & Abilities Required
Ability to work in a team setting is required. Organizational skills to manage constant workflow and changing demands is required. Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy is required. Written and verbal skills adequate to communicate with other team members and internal/external customers are required. Self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision is required. Must be able to lead the department with proven problem solving techniques to improve deficiencies. Preferred Qualifications
High school Diploma/GED required; Associates degree or higher is preferred. 5-7 years of QC inspection experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Master CMM Programmer using Calypso software. ASQ Certification - Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Calibration Technician. Other Certifications - AWS, ASNT. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using standard inspection methods and gages to inspect bar stock, castings and machined components is required. Experience using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, gauge blocks is required. Must be a Master CMM Programmer with Calypso software. Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds is required. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Technical ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and industry/customer/supplier specifications. Familiarity with ASTM standards desirable. Hourly: $30.00 - $36.00. Additional compensation: The hourly range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00.
