Overview
Quality Inspector - Rolling Stock at Siemens Mobility, Lexington, NC. You will support a broad range of complex and critical inspection procedures and documentation in a dynamic, high-energy production environment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for rail vehicles. What your day-to-day will look like
Follow general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials. Perform complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources. May conduct first article inspection of parts and assemblies. Make visual inspections and establish quality checks. Identify and handle discrepant material, understand part flow requirements, and support associated actions. To thrive in this role, you have
High school education or state-recognized GED. Basic understanding of assembly and production processes. Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Quality Assurance role. Basic understanding of inspection methods and equipment, and the ability to perform complex shop mathematics. Ability to interpret and use blueprints, specifications, engineering drawings, materials lists and inspection standards. Minimum of one year experience interfacing with quality functions. Willingness to travel to Sacramento, California for training, including an initial trip of at least two weeks and additional travel as needed. Physical Demands
