Position Summary The Freight & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating freight and logistics throughout North America for a variety of wire and cable products with a strong commitment to Service and Quality. Serves as the link between external freight services and the organization, interacting with distribution, sales order processing, customer care, sales and supply chain to route freight, provide freight assistance, and provide freight guidance driving the highest quality, safest and most reliable freight solution at a competitive price. Regularly and effectively communicates with carriers, brokers, customers, suppliers and internal customers. Responsible for routing outbound and inbound freight. Ideal candidate has logistics experience and a passion for customer service.

Responsibilities

Obtains and provides freight quotations

Negotiates competitive freight rates

Assigns carriers to outbound & inbound freight

Ensures proper management and storage of all shipping documents

Investigates freight discrepancies and drives discrepancy solutions

Manages resolution of freight claims

Provides sales, customer and operational support for freight issues and tracking

Provides regular freight reporting on costs, damage rates, etc

Provides freight problem resolution to internal and external customers

Supports the identification and development of new carriers and freight tools & technology

Utilizes internal company ERP system and external software tools to process freight and update carrier information to sales orders

Maintains freight management systems data and information accuracy

Responsive to department needs and follow through on all aspects of request, both oral and written

Qualifications

2+ years of related supply chain experience or equivalent training, previous logistics a plus or college graduate with relevant learning experience

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or related degree paths preferred

Demonstrated strong analytical, data-analyzing, and complex problem-solving skills

Proficient experience with Microsoft office programs and related computer applications

Effectively demonstrates time management, detail attentiveness, prioritization of tasks, and organizational skills

Understanding of freight brokerage, pricing and third-party logistic dynamics

Proven ability to negotiate rates with carriers

Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and cooperatively interact with members of various departments and external contacts

Strong verbal/written communication and phone skills

Attention to detail

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks

Ability to develop relationships with external stakeholders

Shift Schedule

Must be available to work either 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm

Reports To

Corporate Purchasing and Logistics Manager

Compensation $48,000.00 - $60,000.00
