Position Information
Position Title ESOL Tutor (Learning Support) Requisition Number H01837P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 9-10 Months per year 9 Alternate work schedule
Fully in person on the Ogden Campus.
Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $14.00 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function
This position is for current tutors/coaches/SI Leaders/Learning Assistants working in Learning Support only.
ESOL Tutors Meet Weekly For 30 Minute Tutoring Sessions With Students Enrolled In WLC 2810 And 1810. The Purpose Of This Tutoring Is
Help students build English conversation skills on topics related to the WLC course content. Support students’ sense of belonging in their first or second semester as a WSU student. Direct them to campus resources and help them get involved with WSU events as applicable. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
Must be a WSU student and currently tutoring in the Learning Support Department Must have completed the first semester of CRLA training (Advanced Tutor) or first semester of SI/LA training Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and direct conversations with tutees
Preferred Qualifications
Completed second semester of CRLA training (Master Tutor) or second semester of of SI/LA training Knowledge of second language acquisition Knowledge of campus resources outside of tutoring
