Overview
Job Purpose: Position will report to the Warehouse Manager. Supervise warehouse operations as required, communicate transitional information from night shift to day shift, and manage staff assigned to the shift including performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Oversees supervision of all computer entry work and all paperwork flow. Responsibilities
Assign work for all 2nd shift warehouse staffing to meet customer specifications and delivery schedules, including driver departure times. Oversee loading of inbound/outbound freight according to customer specifications. Supervise Local, Regional, and OTR drivers; communicate updates and workflow changes. Review deliveries for packing quality and condition of materials; alert relevant stakeholders with clear information or photos when necessary. Oversee and assign processing of shipment paperwork, including scanning of BOLs; verify accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming, outgoing, and delivered shipments. Monitor quality and accuracy of all shipments against customer specifications. Ensure department staff meets customer requirements; update changes and train staff accordingly; update Tee Card board and TMW system. Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries; implement required actions. Communicate via email before end of each shift to ensure smooth transition of daily workflow, issues, customer concerns, or maintenance issues. Ensure safety, training, and development of employees, drivers, and contractors in accordance with OSHA and RJW policies and procedures. Oversee completion of all computer data entry, verifying accuracy and efficiency. Maintain and approve shift employee timesheets for weekly payroll; monitor overtime to meet department requirements. Perform building checks daily and notify Warehouse Director of equipment or building problems or preventive maintenance needs; assist with maintenance per manufacturer recommendations. Ensure adherence to AIB processes and training for handling food products; complete checklists for building, equipment, and safety as designated by SOPs or policy; issue corrective actions or work orders as needed. Report accidents following proper procedures and notify HR and management of emergency actions; support related follow-up actions. Perform additional tasks as instructed by the Warehouse Manager or COO. Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of warehouse supervisory/managerial experience. Strong communication skills; able to read, write, and speak English effectively. Dispatch experience and dock supervision experience preferred. Familiarity with Smart Turn or TMW software is a plus. Experience in Warehouse Management and LTL dispatch; knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements. Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED; some college preferred. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to activate the phone system using keyboards and buttons; articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others. Regularly works in an indoor/warehouse environment; may sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, or kneel during the workday. Occasionally required to talk, hear, and communicate with customers or employees; may work in excess of 8 hours when required. Vision requirements include the ability to read and discern visual images with 20/20 corrected vision; hearing requirements consistent with normal conversational ranges. Work Environment Note:
