Maintenance Technician

Role purpose

This position is responsible for maintaining production uptime during the shift, by troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment, as well as performing calibration and facilities maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Works in a responsive, organized, collaborative, and safe manner while performing all duties and assignments under the direction of the Technical Supervisor, maintaining focus on company goals with minimal supervision.

Repairs and maintains all production equipment according to SOPs to ensure safety, reliability, efficiency, and product quality.

Sets up laminator tooling and packaging equipment as needed; supports machine operators during setup and production runs by troubleshooting equipment issues.

Maintains and responds to calibration and preventative maintenance requirements.

Utilizes planned downtime for routine maintenance, calibration, and facilities work.

Completes required training to support the development of the Technical team.

Identifies opportunities for process improvement and participates in projects as assigned.

Maintains organization and cleanliness of the Tech shop and Technical department areas of the Cleanroom.

Flexibility to cover and/or interchange between day and night shifts as needed.

Requirements (Qualifications)

Exceptional ability to quickly analyze, assess, and correct process problems on converting, packaging, and support equipment.

Knowledge and understanding of mechanical components and systems; ability to conduct maintenance and repairs.

Knowledge and understanding of electrical circuits and controls; ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

2+ years experience in production or maintenance.

Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Ability to read, write and speak English; bilingual Spanish a plus.

Ability to work safely in a dynamic & diverse production environment.

Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Ability to operate industrial lifting and material handling equipment; forklift and/or motorized aerial work platform certification a plus.

Experience with hand and power tools.

Strong teamwork, energetic and customer-focused attitude with minimal supervision.

Working knowledge of cGMP, ISO, and FDA regulations a plus.

Physical ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds, frequently up to 75 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment / Physical Demands Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and electronics; exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Tasks performed inside a cleanroom with adherence to cleanroom work instructions. Moderate noise level. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. PPE provided: toe protection, safety glasses, hearing protection, and specialized lifting equipment.
