Responsibilities
Connect the most vulnerable members of the community to housing opportunities through intensive outreach and comprehensive housing navigation.
Act as a front‑line representative at community drop‑in centers, engaging directly with community members primarily face‑to‑face and answering questions about housing options.
Provide resources and information to community members to support housing access.
Coordinate with community partners and shelters to streamline housing placement and support.
Engage in community education, outreach, and prevention activities related to child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence.
Position Details Full‑time, non‑exempt. Annual salary $47,594 – $51,339 depending on experience. Additional annual language differential of $3,600 for English/Spanish bilingual candidates.
Work location at all major SAFE Alliance campuses in the Austin Metroplex. Some travel in the community or between campuses; some remote/hybrid arrangements are available.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience working with homeless individuals and local homeless services.
Experience in restorative practices, mediation, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and/or other community organizing and engagement models.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Outgoing, personable, comfortable engaging face‑to‑face.
Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, child abuse; familiarity with risk assessment and safety planning.
Strong commitment to harm reduction, housing‑first, and trauma‑informed care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to use aggressive behavior management techniques and to drive a vehicle to provide services.
Valid Texas driver’s license with at least three consecutive years of driving experience (or applicable alternatives for older applicants).
Completion of the 40‑Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program within six months of employment; ongoing annual continuing education.
Pass required criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and TB test (if applicable).
Compliance with COVID‑19 policies; vaccination strongly encouraged.
