Purpose: The Derivative Operations team is responsible for managing the operational aspects of Athene's Derivative investment and hedging strategy. This role involves derivative middle-office trade support, settlements and affirmations, data management, investment accounting oversight, and derivative legal compliance. This role requires balancing production and project responsibilities—performing derivative trade lifecycle functions, maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting projects to advance the department's and the organization’s strategy. Accountabilities: Collaborate with Derivative Portfolio Management, Derivative Trading, Legal, Treasury, and Investment Accounting to support trade processing and data management for various derivative products. Coordinate with foreign and domestic investment banks to manage settlements, margin requirements, cash management, and collateral related to derivative trades. Manage data flow into internal trade execution and booking platforms, and ensure proper downstream processing for accounting and reporting. Review and reconcile trade bookings and legal documentation to ensure accurate trade confirmation and downstream data flow. Oversee third-party providers, analyze complex issues, and coordinate resolutions. Handle legal trading agreements, understanding differences among ISDAs, CSAs, MCAs, and other agreements across entities. Promote a culture of prudent risk management within the team and organization. Depending on experience, may focus on FX/Swap pre- and post-trade activities, including managing FX affirmations and settlements via third-party applications like CLS TradeMonitor and GTSS. Work late approximately once a week during 'End of Day' trade reconciliation until around 6 pm. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 3 years of investment operations experience preferred. Knowledge of and experience with Derivative post-trade workflows preferred. Experience with MarkitWire/MTM, triResolve, Acadia, PAM/PFI, and/or GTSS preferred. Expertise in Excel required; VBA/SQL skills advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, organized, assertive, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
