General Description: Conduct analytical tests to determine material composition, purity, resistivity, density, porosity, etc., using standard methods. Responsibilities: Utilize laboratory equipment, from simple to complex, ensuring optimal functioning for testing requirements. Design and implement testing methods, procedures, sampling plans, and data collection systems; analyze and report data, including charts and graphs, to support quality decisions. Perform stage two inspections of incoming materials or parts, check characteristics, take samples, and determine acceptability; prepare reports on defective materials and reject unsuitable items. Conduct tests such as density, resistivity, ash content, physical dimensions, hardness, flexural strength, spectrographic analysis, and porosity, following prescribed methods and using standardized instruments. Work from complex drawings and specifications; monitor final inspections for quality assurance regarding dimensions, workmanship, and surface finishes. Maintain continuous improvement in quality through product delivery, conformance, and performance monitoring.
