Main Resposabilities
Implement procurement strategies and policies in line with Sodecia’s purchasing procedures.
Responsible for managing procurement activities across
five manufacturing sites:
Detroit
Auburn, Alabama
Mexico
Canada
South Carolina
Lead commodity procurement for Group 2 through all project phases while maintaining accurate cost and procurement documentation.
Research and identify the best suppliers and products in terms of cost, delivery, and quality.
Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial, technical, and cost factors.
Negotiate and finalize contracts, monitor progress, and ensure supplier performance meets quality KPIs.
Coordinate between suppliers, manufacturing, and internal departments to ensure smooth communication and execution.
Develop and strengthen relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to build long-term partnerships.
Monitor KPIs such as Gross Margin and Supplier Evaluation (IAF), and define action plans based on Sodecia’s purchasing reports.
Continuously develop market and technical expertise through training, supplier visits, and participation in exhibitions.
Forecast price trends and analyze their potential impact on procurement and project costs.
Prepare market analyses and identify growth opportunities.
Collaborate with Engineering to manage design and process changes for both internal and customer-driven modifications.
Ensure ERP data accuracy, particularly in contract updates and supplier information.
Champion the use of
Fullstep
purchasing software.
Work with the Global Purchasing team on supplier consolidation and cost-saving initiatives.
Prepare and monitor the annual budget plan.
Handle supplier escalations and lead resolution actions.
Lead and track all cost-saving projects, updating progress for each business unit.
Maintain accurate purchasing reports and monitor overall procurement performance.
Manage external suppliers for
ED coating, plating, and heat treatment
processes.
Requirements Experience in identifying and sourcing fasteners with a focus on competitive pricing and reliable supply.
Solid knowledge of fasteners — including types, materials, standards, and applications.
Strong understanding of supplier selection, evaluating capability, risk, and competitiveness.
Proven negotiation skills to secure the best pricing without compromising quality or delivery.
Knowledge of
APQP
and supplier development processes.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint to prepare and present sourcing analyses and proposals.
Ability to manage the full procurement process from RFQ to delivery, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Strong relationship management and communication skills with suppliers.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage several suppliers and orders simultaneously.
Adaptability to changing market conditions and supply chain challenges.
