Product Development Specialist - Aerospace at 3M. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The role involves collaboration with global teams to develop aerospace film products and related technologies. Responsibilities

Developing new products and product platforms to maintain and expand 3M’s aerospace film portfolio to enable business growth and strengthen our competitive position Commercializing new products aligned to global customer needs in collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams Developing a strong understanding of customer/market needs, especially as it relates to regulatory standards and critical-to-quality metrics Collaborating with research teams from across 3M, industry, and academia to develop new technology, product, and manufacturing capabilities Identifying and leveraging external interactions to identify and anticipate industry trends that will accelerate technology and product development Initiating and contributing to the development of Intellectual Property and IP strategies Your Skills And Expertise

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start) Ten (5) years of product development, process engineering, or laboratory research in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed include: Masters or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited institution Experience developing thermoplastic and thermoset film, coating and adhesive products of a variety of compositions including urethane, epoxy, acrylic, etc. Experience in multiple manufacturing processes including extrusion and coating Familiarity with aerospace composite manufacturing techniques and modeling/simulation processes Experience in regulated product categories with expertise in product risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and product reliability Proven track record through publications, conference presentations, and/or published IP Collaborative interpersonal style with leadership and networking skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent technical presentation skills and oral communication skills Location, Travel & Relocation

On site at 3M Center in Maplewood, MN (at least 4 days per week) Travel:

3M offers programs to support well-being and competitive pay and benefits. The compensation range for this position is $141,150 - $172,517 (US ApplicantsOnly).
