Design Operations Manager

$150,000.00 - $180,000.00
Responsibilities The Design Operations Manager is a critical, dedicated role responsible for maximizing the efficiency, quality, and impact of the UX Design team at Company. This individual will be the operational backbone for the growing team (scaling toward 25 people), managing the systems, processes, and tools that enable designers to deliver world‑class experiences consistently.
Reporting to the Director of UX Design, this role will apply expertise in Design Operations to manage team workflows, resource allocation, and design system governance. The ideal candidate must have a foundation in design to effectively manage the creative process and the technical skills to manage the relevant tooling. This role is essential for ensuring UX scalability and aligning design execution with broader business and product goals.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in a dedicated Design Operations (DesignOps), Program Management, or Studio Management role within a design or product organization
Demonstrated experience in design (e.g., background as a UX/UI Designer or similar role), possessing a deep understanding of the creative and technical processes of product design
Experience with resource planning, project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum), and using relevant management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana)
Proven expertise in managing modern design tooling, with high proficiency in Figma administration and managing a centralized Design System
Exceptional skills in process definition, documentation, and change management within a fast‑paced environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to define operational metrics and synthesize data for business reporting
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Experience managing operational needs for a design team that is actively scaling is highly desirable
Compensation and Benefits The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
