Description
The Floor Tech cleans and services all areas of the hospital and buildings owned by the hospital. They arrange furniture in an organized and orderly fashion. They keep all equipment and storage areas clean and organized. They perform a variety of related duties. The Floor Tech scrubs, strips, refinishes and buffs floors routinely. They also collect and remove all waste accurately. They shampoo, scrub and/or extract furniture and carpeted areas. Has no access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities. Responsibilities
Clean and service all areas of the hospital and related buildings. Arrange furniture in an organized and orderly fashion. Keep all equipment and storage areas clean and organized. Scrub, strip, refinish and buff floors routinely. Collect and remove waste accurately. Shampoo, scrub and/or extract furniture and carpeted areas. Ensure compliance with access restrictions (no access to patient health information; may access medication storage areas, excluding controlled substances). Requirements
Ability to read and write and follow written and oral directions. Cleaning experience is desirable but not essential. Employees receive on-the-job training. Must know how to use cleaning equipment (i.e. vacuum cleaner, battery operated equipment, electric buffers). Ability to clean furniture, windows, restrooms, walls and dust mop and damp mop hard surface floors. Must be able to replenish all paper supplies, waste can liners and handle hazardous chemicals correctly. Ability to operate heavy equipment like battery operated burnishers, automatic scrubbers and buffers. Ability to climb ladders to hang cubicle curtains, drapes and other items. Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
