As a KYC Operations Senior Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring Wise adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements. You will conduct enhanced due diligence, analyze customer activities and behaviour patterns, and ensure that KYC records are kept up to date according to internal standards. You will assess and approve onboarding of high-risk customers according to regulatory standards. This role is a strong opportunity to deepen knowledge in the KYC domain. Responsibilities
Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews based on the customer’s risk profile and take risk-based decisions while ensuring risk management standards are met. Review customer transaction history and provide insights into behaviour patterns that may indicate risks; conduct periodic reviews and analyze changes in customer history and account usage. Review and assess high-risk customer reports to provide analysis and approval per set policies and procedures. Prioritize and identify customer records that require further review; obtain and follow up on information and/or documentation as requested. Ensure information and documentation provided by customers meet our risk appetite for onboarding and maintaining high-risk customers. Conduct in-depth analysis using provided documentation or external sources (websites, company registries) to ensure only customers within risk appetite are onboarded. Use internet sources and/or third-party vendors as needed. Communicate with other internal teams to handle escalated or complex cases. Provide guidance and responses to daily inquiries from peers, front-line, and management regarding complex matters and case analysis. Maintain a strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations and their impact on the business, including Wise products and services. Draft SAR narratives when warranted to report unusual activity. Lead projects related to team processes, guidelines, and participate in policy updates, training materials, and standard operating procedures. Draft reports to internal and external stakeholders as requested. Develop an understanding of different business models, customer types, country risks, and regulatory requirements across multiple geographies. Support Wise in internal and external audits and regulatory process-related inquiries and reviews. Mentor and support KYC Operations Analysts through training and coaching to enhance team capabilities. Maintain effective communication with customers via Wise’s channels (phone, email, chat). Perform tasks within the key performance indicators set by the leadership team. Participate in meetings, training, internal and external events as assigned by your lead. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English skills; additional languages are a plus. Qualifications
1+ years of experience in Operations or financial services (preferably in CDD/EDD/AML or compliance roles). Working knowledge of global KYC/AML compliance regulations and standards. Ability to make decisions and apply a risk-based approach in work. Punctual, independent, proactive, and results-oriented. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to adhere to strict KPIs in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to handle routine and stressful situations well and to work autonomously within well-defined procedures. Ability to identify gaps in policies and processes and provide detailed feedback with examples when possible. Flexibility to work in shifts, including early mornings, daytimes, afternoons, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per business needs. Familiarity with reading legal and regulatory documents. Nice to have:
