Kimball Electronics . The Business Development Manager is an existing role within Kimball Electronics (KE) Shared Services. This remote position is located outside headquarters, ideally located in the United States (remotely based between the East Coast and the Rocky Mountains) and reports to Patrick Prondzinski, Vice President of New Business Development Director, for Kimball Electronics, who is located remotely. It is a global position that will be responsible for identifying prospective customers and developing long-term relationships with new OEM customers in the Medical, Automotive and/or Industrial market segments. These are new relationships in the identified markets primarily focused on the North American market with global Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) manufacturing needs. Experience in the EMS industry from PCBA through to High-Level Assembly and Finished Device Assembly is required. Responsibilities
Identify prospective OEM customers, qualify their fit to the company’s strategy and capabilities, and land new medical, industrial, and/or automotive customers. Lead specific project or account teams (without direct reports) until they are transitioned to resources within our manufacturing operations. Maintain CRM prospect, opportunity, and quote data; support quote activity and RFQ processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams; understand customer development processes and FDA/NMPA registrations when relevant. Travel in North America and occasionally to Europe and Asia. Develop long-term strategic relationships and attract new customers through marketing activities and communication of KE’s value proposition. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Industrial, Medical, and/or Automotive EMS markets with understanding of new product development processes. Ability to work independently and remotely from Kimball Electronics facilities; ideally based in the United States (East Coast to Rocky Mountains). Experience in winning opportunities with new customers; strong sales, communication, organization, presentations, negotiation, collaboration and project management skills. Ability to lead teams without direct reports; maintain CRM data. Willingness to travel in North America and occasionally to Europe and Asia. Entrepreneurial spirit and technical acumen in Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) with knowledge of manufacturing processes. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; engineering degree or technical training is helpful but not required. Experience with medical product development and FDA/NMPA registration processes is beneficial. Key Performance Objectives
Short Term (0 to 3 months): understand facilities capabilities, CRM tools, and Kimball Business Development process; begin prospecting and manage existing prospective accounts. Mid Term (3 to 18 months): identify a minimum of 2 new active accounts per month; complete strategy statements, plant visits, and RFQs. Longer Term (>18 months): identify ~2 new active accounts per month; complete monthly strategy statements, plant visits, and RFQs; annually land 2-3 new customers meeting revenue and margin targets. Identify and lead improvement processes within the business development processes.
