Responsibilities The TRIO Program Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and project support to the TRIO Department. Key duties include:
Enter data into Blumen and maintain student files, compile information for reports, and manage records for grant compliance.
Prepare bi‑weekly payroll for classified, part‑time, and student workers and submit TRIO A21 documents.
Serve as the first point of contact for students, districts, and community partners; schedule appointments and manage office coverage.
Screen and respond to all correspondence and maintain the office email account.
Facilitate TRIO orientations, explain eligibility, and guide students through application, orientation and intake processes.
Track all departmental expenditures, submit requisitions, book rooms, transportation, lodging, and order meals for TRIO events.
Provide support through product ordering, budget reconciliation, and inventory tracking.
Manages updating of office manuals, handbooks, forms, flyers, and guides.
Coordinate workflow of federal work‑study students and institutional student workers.
Assist in the coordination and completion of special projects as requested.
Attend staff and division meetings and training sessions.
Perform all duties in accordance with college policies, procedures, and TRIO grant regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably as a secretary, administrative assistant, program assistant, or in a program similar to TRIO.
Excellent customer‑service skills: pleasant, courteous and professional.
Ability to perform light physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pulling, standing on stepstools, and walking around campus.
