Overview We seek an experienced Linear Programming (LP) Engineer with expertise in refinery optimization and economics to join our Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD). The role involves developing and updating LP models, conducting simulations, evaluating projects, and advising refinery management. Key Responsibilities Develop and run LP models for refineries to optimize operations and identify margin improvements. Support and validate optimization initiatives and studies, ensuring models reflect current and future conditions. Provide technical advice on LP and optimization matters, communicating results effectively. Collaborate with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to ensure model alignment. Maintain and calibrate LP models using historical data and refinery tests. Support the global MPIMS model for crude and product market optimization. Review and approve LP model updates, ensuring quality and consistency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; advanced degree preferred. Minimum 15 years of LP experience in refining or gas plants, including modeling and economics. Proficiency with PIMS, Aspen HYSYS, PetroSim, or similar tools. Experience developing rigorous simulation models for refining units and integrating them with LP models. Strong understanding of refining processes, economics, and global markets. Ability to work independently and in teams, managing multiple projects. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
