EHS & Maintenance Manager - Johnson City, TN. Dentsply Sirona is the world’s largest manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, with a 130-year history of innovation and service to the dental industry and patients worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety and Maintenance Manager to lead plant efforts in safety, industrial health / hygiene, and environmental protection in compliance with all Company, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. This role also oversees plant contract security personnel/C‑TPAT requirements and leads a multi-disciplined maintenance team to improve overall equipment effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. This is a full‑time position based in Johnson City, TN.

Responsibilities

Under general guidance from Senior Corporate EHS Leadership, lead local compliance with Company, Federal, State, Local and Regulatory EHS systems, processes, and programs. Champion a local culture of safety excellence including leadership commitment, employee engagement, communication, and training. Lead root cause analyses for accidents, injuries, and near-misses; drive corrective/preventive actions and recurrence prevention. Conduct risk assessments of tasks/conditions, identify hazards, evaluate risks, and determine hazard elimination or risk control methods. Develop and coordinate effective training for employees in safety, policies, regulations, and proper use of safety equipment. Manage internal safety auditing programs and conduct compliance audits across regulatory requirements. Implement plant CTPAT security initiatives and monitor compliance. Prepare and timely submit EHS and CTPAT reports, metrics, inspections, and audits. Lead a maintenance team responsible for facilities and mechanical machine maintenance; schedule work per maintenance programs and urgent requests. Develop and implement maintenance procedures for equipment installation, maintenance reporting, training, project management, contractor management, and security systems management. Ensure accountability toward Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, People, and Engagement goals. Manage hazardous waste streams per regulatory guidelines. Develop predictive and preventative maintenance programs and troubleshoot production equipment issues. Assess operational requirements and plan to maximize efficiency and minimize disruptions. Secure quotations for facilities projects, inspect work and materials, and follow procurement procedures. Oversee facility pest control and cleaning services to maintain a safe, clean environment. Lead and manage maintenance activity, OpEx and capital projects, including budgeting and governance for safety and uptime. Plan, direct, and oversee facility and grounds upkeep, services, and utilities. Assess space requirements and recommend expansion or reconfiguration plans. Manage training and development, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions as needed. With HR, manage employee relations and investigations on the floor. Additional responsibilities as assigned. Education & Experience

Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Engineering, Business Administration or related field preferred. Experience: OSHA 511 training and certification a plus; EPA certification a plus. Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities

5–7 years of leadership experience in EHS, engineering, or manufacturing operations in a high-volume, high-mix site (preferred). Experience in a regulated industry (FDA, ISO, medical devices) a plus. Strong project management and preventive maintenance management experience in a quality system environment (GMP, QS, ISO). Lean manufacturing, engineering, distribution/warehouse management, quality/regulatory assurance, and supply chain management experience; leadership of technical teams a plus. Manufacturing financial experience with budgeting, forecasting, profit/loss accountability, and CapEx justification. Strong computer skills (MS Office, email, internet) and excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and lead effective teams; strong organizational and analytical skills; good presentation and influencing abilities. Willingness for minimal travel (domestic and international).
