Position Summary:

The Site Work & Heavy Equipment Operator plays a critical role in preparing construction sites for building projects. This position involves operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment to perform excavation, grading, trenching, and other site preparation tasks. Install underground utilities with a focus on storm piping systems and associated structures (e.g., catch basins, manholes, culverts). The operator ensures that the ground is properly leveled, compacted, and ready for foundation work, contributing directly to the success and safety of the construction process.

Essential Functions

Perform efficient safe operation of bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, wheel/track loaders, dump trucks, and other equipment in compliance with company policies.

Safely move material in a manner which does not endanger personnel or equipment.

Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections on equipment and complete necessary forms.

Daily maintenance of equipment.

Professional interaction with customers.

Other duties as assigned.

Perform operations with GPS and/or Non-GPS equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

CDL required

Ability to safely haul equipment and drive loaded dump trucks.

Ability to drive manual transmission

Strong knowledge of site work methods, safety practices, and heavy equipment operations

Experience operating and setting up GPS equipped equipment

Proficient with setting up and using transit and lasers

Ability to work from jobsite provided blueprints plans and project documents

Knowledge of Ohio EPA and SWP3 requirements

Proven leadership experience

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, and handle varying weather conditions

Excellent communication skills
