Senior Quality Assurance Inspector
Location:
Novi, MI Compensation:
Up to $60,000 annually About the Role
Join a leading manufacturing organization as a Senior QA Inspector. Responsible for ensuring high-quality standards for electronic assemblies, cable assemblies, and raw materials through inspections, testing, and training of QA team members. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality management teams to maintain compliance with IPC standards and internal procedures. Key Responsibilities
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of rigid and flex PCB assemblies per
IPC-A-610
and
IPC J-STD-001
standards. Inspect cable and wire harness assemblies per
IPC/WHMA-A-620
standards, identifying soldering, crimping, and assembly defects. Utilize inspection tools such as microscopes, x-ray machines, calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and precision rulers. Conduct electrical testing using
CableEye
and perform firmware/MAC address verification via
VISION
software. Complete receiving inspections for raw PCBs, wire/cabling, components, and other incoming materials. Perform inspections and documentation on repaired or RMA products. Maintain and approve master samples for component and product reference. Train and mentor QA team members on inspection procedures, defect identification, and interpretation of assembly documentation. Participate in
ISO 9001:2015
internal audits and support process improvement and corrective action initiatives. Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience performing QA inspections for
electronic assemblies ,
cable/wire harness assemblies , and related components. Advanced knowledge of
IPC standards
(IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-600). Ability to interpret assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing orders, and work instructions. Proficiency using inspection tools and electronic test equipment. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Access, Teams, and Windows applications). Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Working knowledge of basic electronics principles. Skills & Experience
Experience with
x-ray inspection technology . Familiarity with
ISO 9001:2015
quality management systems. IPC certifications (CIS or CIT) or soldering certification. Soldering and rework experience. Benefits
