Job Summary The Payroll Tax and Compliance Analyst ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all payroll tax activities across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role manages payroll tax filings, reconciliations, audits, and reporting while maintaining compliance with ever‑changing tax laws and regulations. The analyst partners closely with payroll, finance, and HR teams to resolve discrepancies and support continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

Oversee all federal, state, and local payroll tax filings.

Assist with multi‑state payroll for more than 1,000 employees.

Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll tax filings and payments.

Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, notices, and audits.

Maintain compliance with all payroll‑related tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and reporting requirements.

Support year‑end activities including W‑2, W‑2C, and 1099 reconciliation and distribution.

Manage system configurations related to tax setup in ADP.

Collaborate with payroll and accounting teams to ensure tax liabilities are accurately recorded.

Monitor legislative changes and recommend updates to policies or procedures.

Support internal and external audits with required documentation.

Assist in process improvement initiatives and implementation of new systems or tools.

Serve as the main contact for external payroll tax vendors, government agencies, and auditors.

Optimize payroll and tax processes for improved accuracy and efficiency.

Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in payroll tax administration or compliance.

3+ years of overall payroll experience in a similar size organization.

2+ years of direct ADP Workforce Now payroll experience.

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Valid driver’s license required.
